As the Trump-era trade war rhetoric intensifies, Hence AI is stepping into the chaos with a new product designed to help companies make sense of global risk in real time.
Introducing Hence Global:
The London-based startup unveiled Hence Global, a $1,500/year AI-powered advisor that helps companies track and analyze geopolitical and business risks as they unfold. Unlike traditional consulting services, Hence delivers daily, tailored briefings that do the work of a mid-level analyst in a fraction of the time.
How it works:
Companies create a persona — their sector, operating environment, key issues — and the system provides real-time, forward-looking updates sourced from news headlines, SEC filings, sanctions lists, press releases, Wikipedia, and more. The AI uses Palantir’s Foundry infrastructure to synthesize insights and provide actionable advice for managing evolving risk.
“It’s like having an AI-powered business advisor riding alongside you,” said CEO and co-founder Sean West, a former Eurasia Group exec and author of Unruly: Fighting Back when Politics, AI, and Law Upend the Rules of Business.
Big clients are already using it:
Law firms like Pillsbury, tech companies like TravelPerk, and NGOs like the International Council on Metals and Mining are among the first users.
“It turns the firehose into a water fountain,” said Matthew Oresman, managing partner at Pillsbury’s London office.
“This was the kind of always-on monitoring we just weren’t doing before,” added ICMM CEO Rohitesh Dhawan.
Built for everyone, not just the elite:
West argues the product levels the playing field. “Big companies can always pay for expensive advice. Startups and NGOs can’t. That’s who we’re here for.”
Why it matters:
In a world where every tweet or tariff can reshape markets, companies need more than just human analysts to stay ahead. Hence Global is one of the first tools to blend geopolitical foresight with affordable, AI-driven intelligence, giving smaller players access to insights once reserved for Fortune 500s.
The bigger vision:
This is the second product from Hence, after its litigation-focused Hence Legal platform. West says acquisition isn’t the goal — instead, the company is focused on scaling a new kind of accessible business intelligence platform.
“We’re trying to do big things. The opportunity is global — and underserved.”
