Amazon just added a new voice to your shopping experience — literally.
The company has begun testing short-form AI-generated audio summaries for select products in its mobile app. Powered by what Amazon calls “AI shopping experts,” these audio blurbs highlight key product features, customer reviews, and trusted info from across the web — all in a conversational tone.
Accessible via a “Hear the highlights” button on eligible product pages, the feature is aimed at products that typically require more research before purchase, such as electronics or home goods. The goal? Speed up decision-making and make shopping feel more like chatting with a savvy friend than scrolling through specs.
“It’s like having helpful friends discuss potential purchases,” Amazon said. “Even if you’re multitasking or on the go.”
The rollout marks another step in Amazon’s broader push to integrate generative AI into the shopping journey, blending convenience with personality in a world that’s increasingly voice- and AI-driven.
