Anthropic just made Claude more than a chatbot. The AI platform now supports interactive third-party apps, letting users call up workplace tools like Slack, Canva, Figma, Box, and Clay directly within Claude’s interface — with Salesforce coming soon.
Eligible Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise subscribers can log in to these apps through Claude, enabling the AI to:
Send Slack messages
Generate charts and visual content
Access and manipulate cloud files
Assist with collaborative tasks
The integration is powered by Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard introduced in 2024, which underpins app support for both Claude and third-party developers.
Combined with Claude’s intelligence, these apps let teams analyze data, design content, and manage projects faster than using the tools alone. For example, users can ask Claude to update a Figma design or pull the latest files from Box without leaving the chat interface.
When paired with Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s recently launched multistage agent tool, the potential grows further. Cowork can assign complex tasks that interact with datasets or projects — meaning future app integration could let Claude automatically update marketing graphics, generate reports, or manage ongoing work projects.
Anthropic warns users to monitor AI agents carefully and avoid granting access to sensitive information. Suggested precautions include creating dedicated working folders and limiting permissions to reduce risk.
Bottom line:
With interactive apps, Claude is stepping up from a conversational assistant to a central hub for workplace productivity, rivaling OpenAI’s Apps system while keeping safety and enterprise workflows front and center.
