Claude Cowork Expands to Mobile and Web, Bringing AI Workflows Anywhere

Anthropic is making its AI agent far more portable. Claude Cowork, previously limited to desktop apps, is rolling out to web browsers and iOS/Android devices, allowing users to hand Claude a task on one device and pick up the results on another. The beta begins with Max subscribers, with additional paid plans expected to follow over the coming weeks.

Cowork is designed to go beyond chat. Instead of answering a single prompt, it can work through files, emails, calendars, messaging apps, and connected tools to complete multi-step tasks. With this update, those jobs continue running in the cloud—even if your laptop is closed or powered off. When Claude reaches a decision that requires human approval, it sends a notification directly to your phone.

Anthropic has also unified the experience by placing Chat and Cowork under one interface on desktop and web, making it easier to move from conversation to delegation without switching apps. Desktop users will still have access to advanced capabilities like local file access, while mobile and web focus on cloud-based workflows.

To encourage adoption, the company is extending doubled Cowork usage limits through August 5, giving early users more room to test larger and longer-running projects.
