Huawei recently hosted the 9th annual ICT Competition and the AI Accelerating Education Transformation Summit in Shenzhen, China, drawing over 210,000 students from 2,000+ institutions worldwide. After rigorous rounds, 179 teams from 48 countries competed in the global finals.
The competition featured three main themes: Practice, Innovation, and Programming, alongside initiatives like industry-academia collaboration and custom curriculum development. Awards recognized not only technical achievement but also broader impact:
Women in Tech Award: Given to all-female teams from Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Germany, and Kenya.
Green Development Award: Won by a team from Ghana.

At the accompanying AI in Education Summit, Huawei launched AI capabilities on its ICT Academy Intelligent Platform, aimed at making AI tools more accessible to students and educators.
In his keynote, Ritchie Peng, Director of Huawei’s ICT Strategy, emphasized the competition’s evolving design to align with the Intelligent World 2030 vision.
