Introducing GPT-4: OpenAI's Latest Text-Generating Model

Exciting news! OpenAI has announced the general availability of GPT-4, its latest text-generating model, through its API. Existing developers can access it now, and new developers will gain access soon. GPT-4 can generate text, accept image and text inputs, and performs at a "human level" on various benchmarks. OpenAI also plans to allow developers to fine-tune GPT-4 and GPT-3.5 Turbo with their own data.

They offer free coursework on AI and responsible AI issues, granting a professional certificate in generative AI upon completion. Additional resources and challenges are also available. 

Microsoft and LinkedIn are teaming up to address the growing demand for AI skills in the workforce. The AI Skills Initiative offers free coursework developed with LinkedIn, introducing people to AI and responsible AI practices. Millions of developers have requested access, and innovative products leveraging GPT-4 are on the rise. 

GPT-4, the latest text-generating model from OpenAI, brings improvements over its predecessor. It can generate text, including code, and accept image and text inputs. However, it's important to note that GPT-4 is not perfect and may make errors. OpenAI plans to allow developers to fine-tune the models later this year. 

OpenAI is making DALL-E 2 and Whisper APIs generally available. DALL-E 2 generates images, while Whisper is a speech-to-text model. To optimize compute capacity, certain older models like GPT-3 will be replaced starting January 4, 2024. Developers using the old models will need to upgrade their integrations. 

Anthropic expanded the context window for its text-generating AI model, Claude, to 100,000 tokens. GPT-4 previously held the crown with a context window of 32,000 tokens. Context window affects the model's ability to stay on topic. OpenAI is working on expanding image-understanding capabilities and addressing limitations.
