Microsoft's AI-powered design tool, Designer, is now widely available within Edge in the US. With a simple prompt, you can create designs like social media posts and invitations, all from Edge's sidebar—no need to open separate tabs or apps.
Designer uses AI to suggest designs complete with text and images. You can customize these designs, swap photos, add illustrations, or change fonts. It's a helpful starting point, even if the designs aren't always perfect.
Although similar features exist in the standalone Designer app, having them integrated into Edge streamlines the process. Easily bring designs to emails, Facebook, or Instagram without juggling multiple windows. This move could rival other AI-powered design tools like Canva.
Microsoft Designer remains in preview, no official release date yet. To access, update Edge and toggle on "Designer (Preview)" in the sidebar's "plus" icon. Microsoft also brings updates to Bing Chat, enabling more actions like tab organization and password retrieval.
