Microsoft's subsidiary Nuance Communications has introduced Dragon Ambient eXperience (DAX) Express, an AI-powered clinical notes application for healthcare workers. By utilizing ambient AI and OpenAI's GPT-4 model, DAX Express aims to ease clinicians' administrative tasks by generating clinical note drafts within seconds of a patient visit. The application is intended to help doctors focus more on patient care, and it will be available through Nuance's Dragon Medical One speech recognition app, used by over 550,000 physicians. DAX Express follows Nuance's original DAX application, which also transcribes patient visits into clinical notes but requires human review for accuracy. The new tool will be available for private preview this summer, with wider availability dependent on user feedback.
Dax Express is powered by OpenAI's technology.
