Snapchat Unveils a New Generative AI Feature, ‘My AI Snaps,’ for Paid Subscribers

Snap announces the launch of a new generative AI feature on Snapchat+. Subscribers can now send Snaps to the in-app chatbot, My AI, and receive a generative Snap back. 

The My AI feature, previously available to all users for free, can now return photos in response to user Snaps. This AI-infused update adds entertainment value to the Snapchat experience. 

The generative AI feature allows users to send Snaps of their activities and receive creative responses from My AI. From funny dog photos to recipe suggestions, the feature offers a range of interactive possibilities. 

Snap has introduced AI enhancements across the app, including the ability to add My AI chatbot to group chats and utilize AI for place recommendations and Lens suggestions. The app continues to explore the potential of AI integration. 

While the generative AI feature adds entertainment value, privacy and safety considerations remain important. Snap aims to implement guardrails and provide insights in its Family Center parental controls hub to ensure a safe user experience.

The new generative AI feature is only available to Snapchat+ subscribers, the $3.99/month in-app subscription that offers a variety of Snapchat enhancements, including things like the option to pin a No. 1 Best Friend, a Story Rewatch indicator, custom app icons and a theme editor, Priority Story Replies, a Snapchat+ badge and much more.
